Chinese Medicine is safe & effective during pregnancy

The MAA is dedicated to providing vital education about the benefits of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese medicine, as well as helping you find an appropriate provider for your pregnancy needs.

Common uses include nausea during pregnancy, back and hip pain, labor preparation, and hypertension, just to name a few. (or something like that to keep their attention and give them an example.)

For millennia Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture and Herbs, have not only enhanced fertility but also greatly benefitted women during pregnancy.  A highly sophisticated form of medicine emerged as long as 2500 years ago that began to address the needs of women in pregnancy.  Acupuncture and Chinese medicine can be used to enhance the health of pregnant women and treat the diseases and discomforts associated with the peri-natal period.

Acupuncture has received great acclaim by the WHO and NIH for it’s ability to safely and effectively treat many diseases, and pain patterns.  A recent survey by a team of scientists evaluated the 5 major data banks for medical research and found that the adverse effects of acupuncture during pregnant are very minimal, (  ) and of those they were manly pain and bruising at the site of needle.  No major complications were associated with acupuncture during pregnancy.  We know acupuncture is safe to use in pregnancy, even beneficial.  This is found both in the research literature and in our own vast clinical experiences.
